Here’s a video showing Walter Walters Jr. Frank Marshall ventriloquist figures. Back in the vaudeville days one of the more famous ventriloquists was Walter Walters.
He was married to Emily Carlin and they had a son named Walter Walter Jr his real name was Walter Olsen Jr. He too became a ventriloquist and worked the vaudeville circuit with his two Frank Marshall figures named Mary Lou and Woody. Woody has the following movements, slot jaw, side to side self centering eyes, winkers / blinkers.

I ended up with a few new commissions.
My latest project is another Frankenstein figure. The request was for a copy of Sparky (click here to see Sparky in the Ventriloquist Central Collection), but I don’t do copies out of principle. It will have some noticeable differences.
I am including a concept sketch, and an email I just sent to the person who commissioned it.
I am a sucker for antique figures as everyone knows but new figures I have always had a problem purchasing. I am not saying I have not purchased new figures it just bothers me because for the most part they are usable tools but not collectible.
At quite a few ConVENTions Helen would always gravitate to Jimmy Eisenberg’s table and say to me ” You should get one of his figures.” I would always say if it were old!! Helen liked them and I never did purchase one that is until just recently. Helen would be happy.
