Ventriloquist Market Place and the Big Auction Site

ventriloquist marketplace

I just had to write this because I just can’t believe what some people do. We have some folks that list a figure for sale on the Ventriloquist Marketplace and that is terrific.

We love being able to afford everyone an inexpensive way to reach the ventriloquist buying public. What I really don’t understand is why a person would list on the Marketplace for a higher amount of money than on the big auction site.

Just doesn’t make much sense to me.

If you are asking $1000.00 for an item on the Marketplace then go and list it on the big auction site for $895.00 then you end up paying the big site about 15% of that amount in fees, you ultimately end up with about $770.00 for your item. Think about that for a couple seconds. Why not list on the Marketplace for $775.00 instead of the $1000.00. Believe me if you did you would make the sale.

Our Marketplace works and works consistently when items are priced right. If it is overpriced of course it is not going to sell. So folks I am not saying don’t use the big site I am just saying the pricing should be reversed. What ever you would really take for your item is what you should have it priced on the Ventriloquist Marketplace. It should be at least 15% higher if you list on the big site to cover the fees.
Am I wrong? Please let me know!! I am scratching my head!!!
Dan

      Hello,
I have a dummy that’s about 35 years old. I know nothing about it, whatsoever.
it was my wifes when she was growing up. its been well preserved. I guess I could send some pics if your interested in making an offer?
again, I don’t have a clue about value or anything.

No, you are not wrong Dan. I’ve noticed this too, people listing items for sale on your site for more than they are asking for it on ebay, seems it should be the other way around because selling on ebay is going to cost them more between ebay and paypal fees.

would like a ventriloquists doll that looks like a little boy. Plan on calling him Bobby.
    I’m just getting started.

I have one made by the late Clinton Detweiler in Colorado, USA.
He was made to look similar to my son, who is intellectually disabled, the doll “taught” my son to talk.
Email me and I can send pictures including his serial number and certificate
