Wow how exciting was this past ConVENTion. One of my favorite ventriloquists of all time being honored and the seeing my pal Bob Isaacson do such a great tribute.

Well the next morning at breakfast Bob said to me “Hey Dan I want you to come to my room at 10:30” I said sure no problem. So at 10:30 I went with Bob to his room. He opened the door and we walked in.

There sitting in a chair was Donny O’Day. I told Bob he was just a great Marshall figure. Bob started to chuckle and then asked me if I recognized him. I said,”No why would I recognize him?” Bob started to laugh again as he told me the story about this being the figure that I had been outbid on on eBay.

I had no clue and Bob had kept the secret from me about his purchasing the figure from the winner. Bob told me about his repaint to make him look correct and how he only bought him because he wanted to do the tribute performance for Jimmy Nelson.

Then he told me he wanted the figure to be in the Ventriloquist Central Collection.

Now I was shaking. I was going to have Donny O’Day in the Ventriloquist Central Collection. WOW WOW WOW. We chatted a few more minutes about price and I actually paid more for him than Bob wanted. He deserved it and I was overwhelmed.

So to conclude this story the tribute celebration for Jimmy Nelson was the greatest ConVENTion ever for this collector of ventriloquist figures. And I have found the holy grail of Frank Marshall figures Donny O’Day!!!

Thanks Mr Bob Isaacson
