Ray Guyll / Austin Phillips Figure

corky

Ray Guyll who was one of my very best friends always said he was going to produce a ventriloquist figure which we would sell through Ventriloquist Central. Alas that day never came to pass.

Ray produced some great characters and this one was one of my favorite ones. After his passing Austin Phillips who met Ray at the Ventriloquist Central Birthday Bash became fast friends with Ray and is carrying on with this figure.

The castings head, hands and body are all from Ray and Austin has mechanized same and done the painting in the style taught to him by the master. The end result is this great figure. I am pleased to now have him here with me in CA.

I know Ray is watching down and patting Austin on his back for a job well done. So am I !!

This is Corky, the stock figure that Ray and I started a number of years ago. He created the face and I sculpted the hair. It was our intention to put a decent figure out with an affordable price. Corky is very near and dear to my heart and we chose to have Austin complete the figures we had already started because we trusted in his craftsmanship. This was a decision Ray and I came to when we learned his cancer was terminal.
