Today I am happy to share with you Doc’s Foy Brown figure. This is one of the best faces I have seen by figure maker Foy Brown.
This figure is about 36″ tall and it to only has moth movement. It is all original and still wearing the cloths that Doc dressed him in.
If you follow my blog you saw I fully restored this Ken Spencer figure and today you can make him you partner.
He will come to you just as you see him dressed in this very snappy outfit. His mouth works perfectly and he has one of the best happy faces I think you will ever find.
I want to thank everyone who wrote in but I think it ultimately is on deaf ears. They have written a form letter and here it is for you to see.
Too bad that Mr. Bowers doesn’t understand what a PERMANANT display means. Those were the terms of the Charlie McCarthy donation.

I received your email about the Charlie McCarthy ventriloquist figure we have in the national collections. As is Smithsonian policy, we don’t promise the permanent exhibition of an object primarily for three reasons. First is the responsibility we feel to exhibit as many of the objects in the national collections as possible on a rotating basis to show the vast variety in Smithsonian holdings. Second is the available space in the museum.

The following was started by our good friend Conrad Hartz and I had to also post this here on Ventriloquist Central to help with the campaign of getting Charlie McCarthy back on display. Edgar Bergen made specific arrangements that Charlie be on Permanent display but unfortunately that is not how it is any longer.
We need everyone to write in to help make this happen.
