One of the items on the Ventriloquist Marketplace
When we first started the Ventriloquist Marketplace we didn’t know how well it would be received.
But thanks to all of you faithful readers of Ventriloquist Central, it has been doing great. It’s really turning out to out to be the place for anyone interested in buying or selling their ventriloquism related items.
My friend Peter Rich, one of the elder statesman of our great art form, happened to send me by snail mail the following items.
One is an article written when he attended the recent Texas Gathering, the second is a flyer from when Peter was on the same bill with Frank Sinatra Jr and the third (see above) is a great color picture of Peter and his sidekick Rawhide.
Sorry about not having posted a better blog today but yesterday I was recovering from a second bit of surgery for a B cell carcinoma which I had removed from my right cheek.
Frank Marshall Ventriloquist Figure “Nosey” Wig
I have written blogs in the past about wigs for ventriloquist figures and I certainly have mentioned Frank Marshall but I have not done one specifically on his wigging. So because of a special request I am doing so now.
Mr. Marshall took great care in wigging his figures. His wigs for the most part were done with a distinct sewn part on the side and came in both straight and wavy hair style. This was called a man’s regular hair cut. Short on the sides with a part and longer on top sometimes with a pompadour on the front. All were cut to perfection and ranged in colors from black to Irish red. I wish I knew where he got his wigs or if they are even available today like they were back then. They were really terrific.
Dan Willinger and the Ventriloquist Central Collection
I have been asked quite a few times to show pictures of the Ventriloquist Central Collection in its entirety and unfortunately, that I am not able to do but, I thought you may like seeing some shots of the collection which is around the room.
