I must tell you that there is jealousy everywhere. I don’t care if you collect baseball cards, record albums, stamps or coins or even ventriloquist figures, someone is going to bad mouth you if you have something that they don’t have or can’t find.
It has always amazed me that folks would be upset with someone because they had spent the time to search and cultivate places to find that elusive item that everyone else wants to find. Unfortunately for me I too have those that are jealous and even don’t like me because of the collection of ventriloquist figures that I have put together.
For me the best part of the ConVENTion is going to the dealers room in my search for that elusive ventriloquist figure that will become a part of the Ventriloquist Central Collection.
This year was no exception. But this year it happened the moment the dealers room opened the very first night. As we all were cramming through the door to enter I was right next to a woman walking in with a figure in her hands.
After my last post, the video of me showing Donny and his functions, I was chatting with Bob Isaacson and he pointed out to me a most interesting fact about Jimmy Nelson and his manipulation of Danny O’Day.
Now you will have to go and watch some of the old videos, but then you will see that Jimmy very rarely uses the side to side eye movement. You will see that Danny’s head move to face the audience and then back to Jimmy.
We haven’t done a mystery ventriloquist in some time and when I saw this nice looking Frank Marshall figure, thought this ventriloquist would be a perfect choice.
