Ken Spencer “Jolly Negro” Ventriloquist Figure

spencer 14 black pics 002

The title by today’s standards is politically incorrect but this was how the figures of the day when done as a black man were called.

This one is a figure I am very happy to have in the Ventriloquist Central Collection. He is a superb example of the carving technique of Ken Spencer. I love the Spencer figures and have quite a number of them in the collection.

As you can see this figure is a full size figure standing 42″ tall and he is all original body hands muslin arms and legs. Also look at the great wig depicting the correct type black hair. Try and find that today!!

He has slot jaw, side to side eyes, winkers and blinkers. A better character would be pretty hard to find!!
