Final Performance of PUPPETOLIO

It is with a sad heart that I am writing this blog for you all to see. One of our good friends Steve Meltzer, owner and proprietor of the Santa Monica Puppetry Center will be having its final performance very soon (click here for more details).

In these trying economic times it seems that Steve’s shows had fallen from schools and libraries attendance and has just forced the doors to close.

I know I can say that the puppet world will be missing a great asset in the loss of this performance center. Steve was a very hard working performer and builder who worked tirelessly at his art and brought many top names into his theatre for all to see and enjoy.

I hope that you are able to some time in the future again open with an even bigger and better location and once again bring the Puppetolio show to the public.

Best of luck to you Steve from Ventriloquist Central.

One Response to Final Performance of PUPPETOLIO

  1. LeeDean says:

There will never be a truly final performance of Puppetolio. The idea is in the creation and first performance, repeated over and again as many times as allowed and allowable, but finality is not in that last performance. We are living in a cash-for-clunkers time only at the moment, and that too will pass only soon enough. Good fortune to Steve Meltzer, on the road with his Puppetolio and Santa Monica Puppetry Center.
