I am always pleased to give accolades when due. Here is a prime example and the accolades go to my dear friend Pete Michaels.

This is the story of ventriloquist Pete Michaels and Woody D. that was the Winner Of The National Board Of Review Of Motion Picture Awards Best Short Subject At The Columbia Film Festival.

Pete talks about creating your character. A must see for every ventriloquist.

Watch this video and you will see why.

One Response to Ventriloquist Pete Michaels – Soul In A Suitcase

  1. Thanks for posting, Dan.

There were some people back in the day, who just didn’t get the whole “Woody D.” thing. Those who DID, saw that “we” were promoting racial unity, rather than division. There was never anything that smacked of racism in Woody’s character. Woody was always portrayed as the SMART one in our act.

The world today, is a much different place than it was when Woody and I made our TV debut. His character has matured beyond his years, as has mine. But he STILL gets laughs because of his fearless delivery of his “observations,” and his (at times BRUTAL) honesty. Woody is the first to admit that he is NOT “PC,” as he loathes politicians.

His character is as relevant today as he was back in 1984 when we teamed up, and performing with him is STILL a thrill!
