Hello,i came across this page while spending a long time looking for someone to show me how to repair the return band for my Dummy. I know this must be an easy fix but i still cant figure it out.I have a 1967 Danny O`Day replica along with a Horseman “Willy Talk” and a 1978 Howdy. These dolls are cloth and plastic except for the wooden stick below,Danny`s head. I would love to be able to repair the mouth if anyone could help me with this matter, and be much appreciated. thank you :)

I have a Jerry Mahoney thats still in the box made by Juro. Neither the jaw nor the eyeballs move althought the strings are there.. Jerry’s head is pretty much sealed
around the neck stick and the only repair avenue seems to be through the mouth
which is very restricted.. Its a handsome doll and before I cut an access door through
the back a jerry’s head I thought I ask if you, or anyone could offer advise, instruction
or sympathy.. I hope to hear.. Freddy in Portland grandavenuegym@aol.com

I have a 1968 Mortimer Snerd and I was wondering how to replace the rubberband.

    Could you help me ?

  6. Blain Butner says:

I have an old (75+ years old) ventriloquist doll and the rubber band providing the tension to close the mouth has broken. The string to open the mouth works fine. The head is closed at the bottom attached to the hand-held stick. I can’t get my fingers into the mouth to attach a new rubber band or elastic. Can you give me the name of a reliable repair person I can send the head to, or explain how I can fix it myself if that is possible. I live in Virginia. Thank you very much.
