Superb Walt Botley Ventriloquist Figure

botley superb 001

One of the unsung figure makers from across the pond is Walt Botley. Since I have been collecting ventriloquist figures this is only the second figure made by Botley that I have found which I could purchase for the Ventriloquist Central Collection.

This figure was made in the early 1970’s and is all original including his 1970’s clothing. This really is the way I like to find figures.

He stands a tall 37″ and has moving lower lip, side to side moving eyes and his right eye winks. The paint and wig are also original to him and have not been touched. His body is all original including his hands which look very similar to the hands Len Insull made.

I love his face and I am happy to let you know he is now a member of the collection.

Ventriloquist Central is the brainchild of Dan Willinger and Steve Hurst. Dan is a ventriloquism enthusiast and ventriloquist figure collector. He has been collecting for over 25 years. He created the Ventriloquist Central Collection. It now has over 100 ventriloquist figures and over 50 of them are Frank Marshall figures. Steve is a ventriloquist as well as builder of ventriloquist figures. He also has a background in sales, marketing, building websites and computers. Because they both love the art of ventriloquism, the website Ventriloquist Central was born. For more information about the website, go to:

Yes Dan, another great figure for the collection. Botley figures are rare & few available. From the control post photo; it appears, Botley had improved his control system ( from an earlier figure I had seen). Most figure makers were always finding ways to improve their figures. Thanks for the look-see.
