As we all know Paul Winchell was a great inventor as well as ventriloquist. And the following pictures show you that he made every effort to protect his ideas. These are the drawings that he used to secure his patent for the Oswald mask.

He was granted patent # 3,129,001 in 1964 for an “inverted novelty mask”.

I found these to be soooo interesting to look at and I thought you all would love to see them as well.

  1. I have an original Oswald mask puppet in the box. Is it worth anything?

  2. Linda says:

Having trouble finding actual footage of Winchell performing as Oswald. Where can I find video of this act?

    Thanks

Winchell as Oswald appears briefly on an episode of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. Haven’t found it yet but it definitely exists.
