Which do You Like?

Many times I am asked by folks about the length of arms on ventriloquist figures. If you look at early Charlie McCarthy pictures his arms were in proportion to his body but later on Mr Bergen did shorten up the length of the arms. I for one do not really care for the short, out of proportion arms.

For me the correct proportions work best. However, my website partner, Steve, likes the shorter arms.

I thought I would throw this out there and see what the consensus would be with the Ventriloquist community so give me your thoughts.

News About Rene Zendejas

rene

Steve has been in contact with Jeff William Yates who told him that Rene had a stroke a few days ago and at this time cannot speak.

According to Jeff, “he has a feeding tube and will most likely be transferred to smaller facility. Rene’s mind is clear.”

I’m sure you agree with me that this is so sad. If you would like to send cards, here’s the address:

Noise from The Ventriloquist Figures Mouth

One of the things that a ventriloquist must learn when doing this art is how to manipulate the mouth so that it does not click when closing. I have been asked many times how this noise can be avoided and why builders don’t eliminate this.

The fact is that is not something that is easily eliminated. Sure you can ad a bumper inside to soften the sound but this will not eliminate the sound entirely. The simple solution is that you must practice to use the mouth so that it in fact does not click.

Sleeve and Pant Length for Ventriloquist Figures

One of the many problems that arise when purchasing clothing for Ventriloquist figures is that the suit coat sleeves and pant lengths will be too long for the vent figure. The fix of course can be going to the tailor and having these shortened to the right length.

I have found that if you go to Jo Anne Fabrics or any other fabric center you can purchase a tape made specifically for fabric which will allow you to fold the extra length inside, tape it and then use an iron which heats the tape holding the fabric in place where you put it.
