Hard Figure vs Soft Figure

I don’t know if it is this site or not but after running the latest poll right here on my blog asking hard or soft figures, it seems that you, the readers, are overwhelmingly in favor of the hard figure. At 82% over 18% clearly the hard figure wins this competition.

I have said many times that I love the hard figure and a mark of the true ventriloquist is a hard figure. Puppeteers use soft figures and that is not bad but I just love hard figures.

On another note I asked for some help on the Forum so please take a few minutes to go and take a look and maybe you can be of some help for identification and help for the Tribute to Ventriloquism pages.

It would be greatly appreciated. The Forum has been overlooked but I believe that it is a very valuable asset to Ventriloquist Central and I do hope more of you will join in and ask or answer questions.

It seems that the summer doldrums are upon us since the ConVENTion and there really isn’t much going on right now but if you have anything exciting to report we are always happy to put it out there for you.

Ventriloquist Marketplace Update

It makes me happy to say that the Ventriloquist Marketplace has been doing great and many items have sold to new happy owners.

However, that being said there are some items that were listed on the Marketplace that are very old and so Steve and I decided that we had to make some changes and clean the Marketplace up. So if you have had an item listed on the marketplace for longer than 6 months and it has not found a new home we have removed the listing.

Now that does not mean you can’t still have the item listed. At your request we will of course re-list it for you. We just want to try and keep the Marketplace fresh for all who visit.

Thanks to everyone for making the Ventriloquist Marketplace a success.

Early Maher Ventriloquist Figure

MVC-029S small MVC-031S small

This is a great early Madeline Maher figure. His name is “Hal” and he’s #108 in the earlier Maher Catalog.

This figure is a fully loaded example with the following functions; slot jaw, side to side eyes, winkers, blinkers and raising eyebrows. Plus, his paint is all original.

All the functions are direct linkage and the levers are set up kind of like a McElroy figure. All brass levers. He stands (actually his body is made to sit- a Maher design) 38″ tall.

He comes to you dressed in his outrageous suit as you see him. These early Maher figures are becoming increasingly hard to find.

He can be yours…..Click here for more pictures & information.

Confusion About The Frank Marshall "Nosey" Replica

There seems to be some confusion about the Frank Marshall Nosey Replica that we are offering here on Ventriloquist Central.  To help clear up some of this confusion, Steve and I recorded a phone conversation we had this afternoon in hopes to help everyone better understand.

To hear the audio, press the play button.

Two Great Signs

My wife surprised Steve my webmaster and me, with a wonderful gift that she was able to get made while we were on our trip in Vegas last week.

Helen never ceases to amaze me with what she does for me concerning my collection and my web site. This just confirms that. I was proud to hang this sign above the doorway to my figure collection. Steve has not yet figured out where to hang his sign, so for now it’s on one of his bookcases.

We still wanted show them off to everyone!!
