Ventriloquist Figure Video Collecting Series – Bob Neller’s Original Marshall/McElroy

Today I am happy to show you a video of one of my very special figures a Marshall which was upgraded by the McElroys for the original owner Bob Neller. Everyone knows Bob used his McElroy named Reggie but before Reggie he used a figure made by Marshall which he called Dizzy Dugan.

Once Bob Neller found out about the McElroy Brothers he had them put their mechanics and head stick onto his Marshall and changed to the McElroy body as well. Neller used Dizzy until he decided to have his Reggie figure built and then sold this figure.

The head is carved wood and one of only a few that were converted by the McElroy Brothers making this figure an extremely rare example of both makers Frank Marshall and the McElroy brothers.

Popsy A Simple Made Ventriloquist Dummy From 1938

Ventriloquist Central now has an Ace Reporter! And our Ace Reporter found this great article about how to make a ventriloquist dummy.

This article appeared in the June 1938 issue of Popular Science (as a sidenote…my webmaster, Steve informed me it’s the same month and year that the very first Superman comic book came out….Steve collects Superman memorbilia).

Accolades For Ventriloquist Terry Fator More Than Just Lip Service

Name My Collection, Continued

I wanted to just say thank you to all who made comments on this idea and I must say there are some very good suggestions and I am weighing every suggestion equally. I don’t want this to end with just one day so we will continue this blog for another day and see what else gets posted as comments.

We also had some great emails that came in as well and I would like to share those with everyone as well.

in our country its called the PARLIAMENT and in your neck of the woods they gather in the senate so is it not obvious where Dan’s Dumbos sit – the DAN WILLINGER”S SENATE of course or just THE SENATE -m LOGIC – smart guys do all the dirty work for the guys in the senate who keep changing – the changing FRONT as you see it – the actual workers are the SECs who are constant and they run the country anyway. Dummies cant.

Name My Collection

It has come to pass when I believe that my collection needs and deserves a name. W.S. Berger had the Vent Haven, Bill Boley had the Dummy Den, Captain Dick had the Dummy Depot ( now owned by Stevo Schulling in Germany) and with the size of the Dan Willinger collection it deserves no less so we have decided to run a little event called “Name the Collection.”

Put on your thinking caps and send in names for the collection and then once all names have been sent in Steve, my webmaster, and I will select what we think are the best three names and will then have you all vote for the best one to call the collection.

Just send in any name ideas you have in the comment section below.

I think this will be fun and hope everyone decides to participate.
