As some of you may (or may not) know, my partner Steve Hurst is a website builder/marketer, a ventriloquist and a figure builder.
Back in 2007 he created “The Ultimate Guide to Building Your Own Ventriloquist Figure, Vol 1”. Since then, quite a few aspiring ventriloquist figure builders have acquired his course.
Today I want to share you with an email that was sent to Steve from Peter Leger. Peter has already built one figure using Steve’s course and is working on another one (see picture above).
Today I have something very special I would like to offer to our ventriloquist community. Everyone loves Frank Marshall and one of his greatest creations was the Tommy Knots sailor figure. This fellow stood a tall 20″ and had Franks signature glass eyes and slot jaw. He came dressed as a sailor and was a great seller for Frank.
We received an email from Mike Salerno who is producing a movie about the life of Edgar Bergen with emphasis on his time growing up in Decatur, Michigan.
One of the main concerns for the ventriloquist is the seating for the ventriloquist figure. Most figures, even though it says will sit by themselves can be very precarious at best. The slightest touch will cause the figure to fall over. I myself have had a mishap and a Frank Marshall figure took a header and I was lucky enough to rescue it before it hit the floor.
