No this figure is not a member of the Ventriloquist Central Collection but I wish it were. This particular figure is owned by Lee Dunn who is a ventriloquist figure builder.
I am always criticized by my partner and webmaster Steve when I do up videos and pictures of the figure’s hands for the Ventriloquist Central Collection.
You see for me the hands are an integral part of the whole for a ventriloquist figure. They should be original to the figure as the maker had intended. Of course I am talking as a collector and originality is a must for me.
Today I am asking for your true opinions on the style of mouth for the ventriloquist figure. Most of us here in the west use slot jaw figures but across the pond figures are still being made using the English mouth.
I pulled out my copy of McElroy Magic and was reading it again and taking in this wealth of information about the construction of the McElroy figures mechanics and I just had to say again WOW!! Mr. Claassen really did an outstanding job when he put this treatise together.
