An Israel Juarez McElroy Style Ventriloquist Figure
A very talented fellow from Arizona named Israel Juarez has joined the very few in the world today who have created McElroy Brothers replicas. If you watched Israel’s postings on Facebook you saw his build of the fabulous Cecil II figure. When he was finished building him he made mention that he thought he may let him go.
Since this was his “Number 1” build I felt that it would be a great addition to the Ventriloquist Central Collection, so Israel and I worked out a deal and “Nick” is now a member of the Ventriloquist Central Collection.
Lucky Charlie Is Completed
It was a long road to bring Lucky Charlie back to life but just before the Ventriloquist Central Birthday Bash he was completed. I waited before showcasing him on the Ventriloquist Central Collection page because I wanted the attendees to the Birthday Bash to have first viewing of this incredible carving from the Master Frank Marshall.
Woody As Used by Walter Olsen the Ventriloquist
Back some time ago I was so excited to show you a pair of Frank Marshall figures that were used by Walter Walters Jr. named Woody and Mary Lou. They are great figures and really are a centerpiece of the Frank Marshall figures in the Ventriloquist Central Collection. They came to me complete with the performance stand.
Again my tree was shaken when I learned there was another Woody figure. I was totally amazed when the pictures came to me showing this Woody in his original sailor suit even down to his boat men’s whistle. I didn’t know there was another Woody and I assumed that this one had to be a back up. But upon inspection of this figure, which is all original, I think this was Walter Olsen’s Woody figure and the one, which I already had in the Ventriloquist Central Collection, is the back up figure.
Bob Isaacson My Mentor
Over the past decade I am happy to say one person in particular has been by my side as I have collected ventriloquist figures and that is Bob Isaacson. I have always been able to ask him any question I have ever had about an antique figure and he has always been there with the answer for me.
I happened to see that my friend Bob Abdou had posted a great shot of Bob Isaacson with Speedy Wheeler (his Frank Marshall Masterpiece) and Tillie Tinkle (carved by Bob himself ) and just loved seeing it.
Both the photo and article are owned by Bob Abdou aka Mr. Puppet. Plus, he also owns Miss Tillie Tinkle and performs with her.
