Thanks for the info Dan. A very sad time indeed. I’ll always cherish my photo of Clinton, Adelia, & I, at my first conVENTion, 1988, & all the dealings i had with them over the years since getting into vent in 1978. It was Clinton who was responsable for me getting to meet my idol, Senor Wences, in 1989 {a young pup named Jeff Dunham was there too. Don’t know what ever happened to him}. I had called Clinton regarding ordering something, & got to chatting & he asked if i knew about the testimonial luncheon Al Getler was holding for Wences. So if it wasn’t for Clinton, i never would have had that once in a lifetime eVENT. God rest you Mr. D. You will remain a yardstick for vent dealers, & people in general to measure up to. My deepest condolences to all his family, friends, & little puppet pals, who i’m sure are shedding a tear over their “Daddy”.

I am a Gospel ventriloquist, and Clinton Detweiler made all of the vent figures that I use. He and I corresponded many times over the last couple of decades, and although I never had the privilege of meeting him personally, I came to regard him as a friend through our letters and e-mails. A few months back, he did repairs to a Mortimer Snerd figure that I use, and even did a free upgrade as a gift. He was truly a Christian and a gentleman, as well as a master of his craft. He is certainly missed by all who knew him.
