In Ventriloquism What Goes Around Comes Around

When you are a collector, no matter what the item may be, you start with the common and less expensive items and usually work your way up into the rarer items and items of greater value.

This is exactly what happened to me. I wanted to replace the original Dummy Dan figure I had when I was 5 years old and had to return to my friend who I had traded with to get him. I never forgave my mom for making me return him. Well really I did forgive her!! LOL

After obtaining that figure I bought any and all ventriloquist figures I could find. I had Charlie’s, Danny’s, Jerry’s, Mortimer’s, coming out of my ears and then decided I had to get the older wood figures. I started my in depth search for the classic old wooden figure. My search took me to Andy Gross from Los Angeles CA.

I found that Andy had a few figures that were for sale and I purchased my very first old wood carved figure from him. It was a Foy Brown figure and I have to tell you when I received it I was totally psyched.

I now owned a for real old ventriloquist figure. I did in fact purchase a few more figures from Andy one was a Theodore Mack figure which I still own and another was a very small English figure that I also still own. Sorry to say the Foy Brown I purchased from him is long gone.

Well the collecting has now made it into a dozen or so years and funny but Andy has now contacted me to identify older figures. It seems the circle is now complete as was stated in the title, what goes around comes around. The person from whom I started collecting in earnest has asked for my expertise. Fantastic!!
