I am embarrassed to come back to the vent community but I really have no choice. In all the 38 years of Vent Haven ConVENTions we have never had this problem about dates but I will explain our situation in brief. We moved the VHC from our original dates (July 15-18) to July 8-11 because of NASCAR races in northern Kentucky the same time as our event. NASCAR brings in 60,000 people into the area and they virtually take over, restaurants..everything. Now NASCAR has announced they have moved their dates to July 8-11, thus causing a major headache to us all.

I have been working with the Marriott for the past three weeks and I thought we had thing settled. Now NASCAR has thrown us a curve. To make our ConVENTion great as always it is necessary that we move BACK to our original dates of JULY 15-18, 2015.

If you have been trying to make reservations for the ConVENTion, the Marriott put all our rooms on “hold” so people would not register for the wrong week. As of tomorrow we have re-opened the reservations and you can now get your rooms. PLEASE MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS FOR JULY 15-18, 2015 .
So, in brief..the dates are July 15-18, 2015 and if you have made reservations for July 8-11 the Marriott will switch these for you and then send an email to confirm it all. Just as a precaution I would ask that you contact the hotel to double check on your rooms. Also we will still have the special rate of $99. per night for 2015 plus some other surprises (good ones!).

We have plenty of rooms on hold at the Marriott (it is not sold out or closed out) and even rooms reserved at the nearby Holiday Inn for overflow. This problem will not occur again as things are finally settled with NASCAR and the All-Star game.

Again, my apologies for all of this, but I have worked hard to make things right and we finally have the answers we need.
