Doris Faye’s Sunflower Figure


As promised here are pictures of the John Carroll figure made for Doris Faye which she called sunflower. A really nice example of John Carroll’s work.

    Dan, are you sure this figure was made by John Carrol? To me it looks like a Jerry O’Leary, Alkali Ike or Velvel type of figure, by that I mean it looks like it was made using a Dummy Dan composition head…

    This was my Aunt Doris’s dummy. The only thing she requested on her passing away, was that her “children” Sunflower and Tyrone were taken care of. I believe that she would be happy to know that being with Dan is fulfilling her request. Thanks to Sammy King ( my favorite ex-husband and Ventriloquist extraordinare) for the referral!
