Do you know of Hetty Holland Nurse Ventriloquist

I delight in the fact that Ventriloquist Central has become the place where most come to find out information on ventriloquism both old and new. This was the case with the email I received which I will attach below. You will have to dig into your archieves to help I am sure but if you have any information it would be greatly appreciated.

Mabel Sinclair is my Great Aunt and her photo is in “I can see your lips move” page #102. My Grandmother Mabels sister was also a performer, her stage name was Hetty Holland and she performed as a nurse with her doll being a soldier. I only know that Mabel went to the States in the late twenties. If anyone has any info I will be happy to correspond as I am trying to piece family history. In anticipation,

I Knew I Was Meant to Collect Ventriloquist Figures

Here are a couple pictures I thought I would share with everyone on Ventriloquist Central.

I am 20 months old in the picture dressed as a cowboy and I appear to be about the same age holding onto my Dummy Dan figure.

I found the picture of me holding the figure on eBay and was shocked to see it and had to get it back. It was a must. Just proves things do go around in circles.

Ventriloquists or Puppeteers – WANTED!

We received this email from an ABC TV casting producer looking for ventriloquists or puppeteers. Read the email below:

 

My name is Amanda Gershkowitz and I am a Casting Associate Producer for ABC families hit reality show ‘Wife Swap.’ We are currently casting for our fifth season and we are looking for families where mom and/or dad are puppeteers or ventriloquists.

In addition, we would love for their kids to be involved in it as well!

We cast everywhere from Maine to California, and this would bring a fun and unique dynamic to the show.

The premise of Wife Swap is simple: for seven days, two wives from two different families with very different values exchange husbands, children and lives (but not bedrooms) to discover what it’s like to live a different family’s life. It’s an interesting social experiment and a great way to see your family in a whole new light. It is shot as a documentary series, so NO scripts and no set. It’s just one camera that is documenting your life.

Families that appear on the show will receive a financial honorarium for lost wages, time and commitment.

Here at ‘Wife Swap’ we look for a two-parent home with at least one child between the ages of 6 and 17 living at home full time.
