Fantastic Frank Marshall Sailor Boy

sailorboy-006S

I had to share this figure with everyone because he is the figure that came packed in the Frank Marshall fiberboard case (click here).

This Frank Marshall figure has a superb face which although is not a cheeky boy he certainly is as cute as any cheeky boy out there.

He is 42″ tall and came to me wearing this great pre war sailor suit done in summer white. He only has mouth movement but what more do you need with a superior looking figure. His hands are also original carved wood and are of the flat style.

What really made me smile was the fact that this was one of Terry Bennett’s Frank Marshall figures. Now in the Ventriloquist Central Collection is Terry’s original Turner figure, Red Flannels (click here) and this Marshall which I was told he purchased somewhere around 1950. The figure itself dates from around 1938. A real Frank Marshall treasure.

Can You Say Mortimer?? By Conrad Hartz

mortimer-012S

Conrad Hartz is a throwback to the old time figure makers and I just love the quality of his figures. This figure pictured here is a rendition by Conrad of a Mortimer Snerd type character. I have owned 5 of Conrad’s Mortimer Style figures and I think this one may be his best effort I have found so far.

He stands 40′ tall and has slot jaw only just like the original Mortimer. A great country bumpkin figure!

Frank Marshall Cases Revisited

marshall-case-001S

Not too long ago I wrote about Frank Marshall and his cases. I found it very interesting and got a few comments.

Now I was pleasantly surprised when I purchased a new Frank Marshall figure for the Ventriloquistcentral Collection to find he came in just the fiberboard case, with great straps to hold it closed, with a leather handle for carrying same and his card affixed to the inside cover, just as was described by our good friend Bob Isaacson.

This case has certainly with stood the sands of time so if you were to have purchased just such a case from Frank it would have certainly protected your investment. it is the only such case I have had a marshall come to me enclosed inside of and I hope you enjoy seeing same.

Buying Figures at Vent Haven ConVENTion

This past Vent Haven ConVENTion was in my opinion one of the best that has been and that says a lot to have surpassed last years which had both Jeff Dunham & Terry Fator on the bill. I just feel that every workshop and all the shows were of the highest caliber making for just a terrific time all around.

I of course being a hard figure collector was hoping that some treasures would arrive and I was not disappointed. I was able to add three figures to the Ventriloquist Central Collection.

All I can say is you have to be at the right place at the right time and be ready to pony up when they are offered to you. I was happy with the figures I purchased and will be sharing them with you in the very near future.

Make sure you check back often to see what these new treasures are……
