Crown Auctions is now doing the packing and shipping in house rather than having the UPS store do it. It may take a bit longer to receive your figures but it will cost just the cost of the packing materials and shipping itself. So you may wait a bit but your purchases will go out.
Another major item that the gallery wanted to address was the glitches in the on line bidding. This occurs with all auctions and even though we have come to think the Internet is the best and fastest that is a misnomer.
When outfitting a ventriloquist figure the clothing should in fact match the character. You certainly wouldn’t dress a bum in a pristine business suit or tux for that matter. A bum lives in the street and so the clothing should be kind of dirty and tattered.
Frank Marshall always clothed his figures in suits of the day. The two tone gabardine suits were readily available back in the 30’s to late 50’s and his figures were ” usually ” the boy style face which certainly fit the bill for the clothing.
Since moving to CA, I found I was also missing my antique clocks. I had many in the house along with the Ventriloquist figures.
I kept a core group of the figures most special to me but kept no clocks. I thought I would share pictures of the more than 200 year old clock that is now hanging on my new wall.
Since I had so many ask if I could do better on this rare Insull figure I have decided to do this the other way.
