I’ve done a few shows and I bombed a couple of times. It’s still bothering me. How do you get over bombing? -vent from Georgia.
Great question, and if you know me, bombing is my favorite subject!
There has been much discussion as to sizes of ventriloquist figures and what constitutes a professional size figure. I really think that this is a subjective idea at best. The reason I say that is because ventriloquist figures have been made by pro figure makers in all sizes. They range in size from 18″ tall to 46″ tall. So which size is the professional size?
I think the first thing that has to be taken into consideration is the type venue in which the performance will be taking place. If it is to be on a stage in a theatre then the full size 40″ or bigger figure is best. If you were to entertain in a parlor setting then a figure of 30 to 36 inches would be perfect. If you were to do walk around entertaining at tables a small figure from 18 to 26 inches would be perfect.

A good question was posed to me and I thought I would write up a bit of a blog and then get all of your opinions on this question.
You will see at the ConVENTion that some people will carry a ventriloquist figure around with them all the time. Doing their vent shtick to any and everyone. The question is, is this cool and ok to do especially at the ConVENTion?
I was asked a while ago if I could make a Tommy Knots body and today I am happy to offer one to you. If you have a Tommy Knots head but no body this will be the cure you have been waiting for.
This is also good for any other 18″ to 20″ figure you may have.
