Ok so the title of my blog is rather strange. Let me tell you why I said that. In 1976 I went to a Cerebral Palsy telethon, which was on Jan 31st and at that telethon where I volunteered to work I met Helen, my wife.
Thirty days later we were engaged and 5 months later we were married. Yes six months to the wedding. The date… July 25, 1976 so that is why I titled the blog as you read.
You know for years now my partner, Steve Hurst and I, have been telling all of you, you must attend the Vent Haven ConVENTion if you have any desire to be involved with ventriloquism on any level. And this year again was living proof of that claim.
The registered attendance this year was the highest ever hitting 610 which is just fabulous. Last year was a record at over 530 for Jimmy Nelson and I never thought it would top that but the new beginnings in the Cincinnati Airport Marriott Hotel may have been an added reason for the spike in attendance.
As you know I’m a fan of ventriloquist figure Brian Hamilton and his figures, a few I have in the Ventriloquist Central Collection.
