If for some reason you haven’t heard, we’ve decided that we’ll have another Ventriloquist Central Birthday Bash for 2013.

And we’ve been hard at work, securing the Hyatt Hotel (getting the best deal possible) once again for this event, plus getting performers for the Saturday night show and workshop/lectures to speak in the after noon.

Ventriloquism And Variety Shows

This came into us and instead of me expounding my thoughts I decided I would post it as it came in to me. I am from the Northeast and so I was exposed to a few shows in the 1950’s & 1960’s from the Boston area which included Community Opticians which featured a ventriloquist we all know and love Harold Crocker and also there was Big Brother Bob Emery although I do not remember seeing a ventriloquist on his show.

You and The Personality Of Your Ventriloquist Figure

We had an email sent to us last week asking this question: “Is there a method that can help ventriloquists create and develop genuine personalities for their figures?”

Many times in the past I have talked about the purchase of a ventriloquist figure and then trying to make such figure work for you.

Well one of the best in the ventriloquist world Ray Guyll said it best (I’m paraphrasing)…”You first have to find a character inside yourself and once you have developed that character then you start the search to find that character in a ventriloquist figure.”
