We received this email from Ron Dentinger who had the please of meeting, Dorothy Seiman, the wife of famed ventriloquist Hank Seiman.

Here’s his story:

I met 96 year old Dorothy Seiman accidentally, Tuesday. (July 16) I was visiting someone at a senior apartment complex in Waukesha Wisconsin and as I was leaving the building, Dorothy was sitting in the lobby area with some other women.

William Wood, World’s Greatest Ventriloquist circa 1900-1910

We received an email from Alan Cook (www.puppetrymuseum.org ) with information and photos about vaudeville ventriloquist William Wood. Here’s what he sent:

I just unpacked one of the William Wood heads from longtime storage. This guy had a flipping wig. Damaged by seawater. One of several heads washed ashore in Gulf of Mexico, after successful tour in Mexico.

Conrad Hartz ” Danny O’Day” Wannabe

Conrad Hartz is one of the finest makers of wood carved figures on the planet. He uses his mallet and chisel to make his carved figures. No duplicarving when you get a Hartz figure. Every one is unique.

Today I am happy to offer to you folks a wonderful Hartz figure that to me really captures the Danny O’Day look. He is all original in perfect as new condition having been purchased in 1998 which is the date on the bottom board of the body but in actuality inside the head he is dated 1995. So this figure is 18 years old.
