Pinxy Restoration Almost Done

I am so happy with this little fellow I just can’t say it enough. I knew he was great from the moment I saw the first picture of him but now that I have once again given him his details and coloring and new wig, well to me he just screams greatness.

I am still waiting for the kid leather to arrive that has to go under the chin so once that is here and completed I will post more pictures.

Pinxy Restoration Moving Along

It is always a pleasure to see the fruits of your labor and today that happened for me. The face on this great George Pinxy Larsen figure really starfted to pop.

I painbted the mouth, did the eyeliner and eyelashes and eyebrows plus added the upswings at the corners of the mouth to give him that smiling look.

Now the best part of the restoration comes with the addition of the shading and wig.

Pinxy Restoration Coming Along

I just love it when everything works out just right. I was able to finish sanding
and have now applied the under coat and this is the first coat of flesh tone.

I was able to come very close to the original flesh color that was originally used by George PINXY Larsen.

Pinxy Restoration – Sanding

The first thing you must do when restoring an old figure, like this pinxy, is to remove all the layers of paint coating the face. Such was it with this Pinxy.

After many hours of tedious hand sanding I have got down to the wood in most of the face areas. That is the hard part.

More Pinxy Restoration

As will happen sometimes you find a diamond in the rough. This is what happened
to me with this Pinxy figure.

I realised after receiving him that he was not just over painted but in fact there was
a coating of plastic wood which was smoothed out and overpainted but it was rough.
