One Response to Rise Of The Gottle Of Geer Brigade – Ventriloquist Acts Gaining In Popularity

  1. Keith Suranna says:

I think this type of publicity is very good for ventriloquism, and I am extremely pleased to see a “resurgence.” But, did anyone catch what Paul Zerdin said about current vents being “better” than those in the past? Now I think Paul is an excellent ventriloquist, but I disagree with his statement. There has always been bad vents, like anything else, but those popular vents in the past (e.g., Bergen, Brough, Alan, etc) were masters. Now tastes have changed and what was funny in 1950 may not be funny now. But that does not that past vents were not as good as those currently performing with, as he said, an “edge.” Young vents can’t forget those greats that paved the way!
