Bob Abdou sent in this ditty to share with everyone:
Hey Dan and Steve,
Here is a video for one of the strangest ideas for a tv show my mother the car from 1965. Here Jerry Van Dyke is a ventriloquist so bad it’s good they even made a model toy from the show.
It’s really fun to watch and a few funny jokes.
Peace
Bob Abdou

Corny but fun. I’ll take that day’s sometimes corny humor on tv over today’s total LACK of humor any day! My favorite part though was seeing “Mr. Hotchkiss”. he was played by Harold Perry, who was “The Great Gildersleeve”, first on my favorite old time radio show “Fibber McGee & Molly”, Then on his own show, later replaced by Willard Waterman, Who sounded almost exactly like him. & i loved that figure! Always have had a love for that style figure {Davenport, insull, etc}. Thanks for sharing this Bob, Dan, & Steve. :)
Really good, Bob.
wait, this is the strangest thing ever, check out Sammy Davis Jr sings the theme song “My mother the car” -it’s true!!

WOW! Bob. That was NEAT! They should have had THAT version of the song on the series instead! Sammy was “SWINGIN'”! The one they used was quite forgettable i thought. Sammy’s was a MUCH better one! Thanks! :)
