Fabulous Early Rene Figure. Can you Say Bob??

MVC-010S

Rene has been a fixture in the puppet world for many decades as both a builder and performer. I am please to now show you this great Rene figure which was built in 1979. This is the exact figure Rene used to create Jay Johnson’s Bob. Just check out his fabulous paint job with the shading that only Rene uses.

This figure is 44″ tall has side to side moving eyes and slot jaw and ball and socket neck. He is 100% original just as he came from Rene studios. Also check out the hands. They are super. The body is made of wood and cast neoprene which Rene is famous for using. The lower legs are also cast in neoprene.

This was purchased and then sat in a magic collection for 30 years until just recently when I acquired him. He is accompanied by a letter written to the original owner and signed by Rene.

These figures are becoming very rare and Rene is not knocking them out like he used to. I have only seen a few offered for sale in 10 years time. Most people that own them never want to let them go.

The great Soupy Sales has passed. I’ll bet Rene’s neoprene could have taken one of his pies in the face. Is it really rubber?

  2. LeeDean says:

    (ANSWER) No, it’s lemon.
