Children and Ventriloquist Figures

I know this has been something that all of us with vent figures have had to deal with and that is that people say “Those are soooo creapy” how can you have them in the room with you. Or “those scare me because the Eyes Move” what a ridiculous statement but it has happened to me many times. I even had to walk a TV cable repairman through the Ventriloquist Central room by the hand because he was afraid of the figures. Yes a grown man by the hand.

This past weekend we had a party for my mother in law and at that party there was a couple of very young children and it was such a pleasure to watch them talk to the figures and ask their parents why these people did not talk to them. Lets face it if you have not been told they are scary then they ARE NOT scary. I just wish we could educate the older folks who have seen a movie like “Chucky” that it is only a movie and that ventriloquist figures are just inanimate dolls with jaws that move.

On a note though I have one Nosey Marshall that has self centering eyes that I can move to one side and they will stay there for a while but then very slowly will return to center. It makes for some fun time when I set them to make this happen.
