Bad Luck is Better Than No Luck

As you all know by now I had some complications after my cataract surgery. I ended up with two tears in the retina which I had surgery on and thought that would be the end of it. NOPE NOT FOR ME.

Today when I finished with my appearance in court as I was walking to my car I started seeing blood floaters in my right eye. All the other stuff was in my left eye. I just couldn’t believe it. I said to myself” If I didn’t have bad luck I wouldn’t have any luck at all!”

I called the doctor’s office that did my retina repair and he told me to come right into his office (downtown Boston) because he wanted to see what was going on. It seem that the Vitreous fluid in my right eye had separated from the retina and it cause a blood vessel to burst which caused the blood floaters but I was luckier than the other eye because this time the retina did not tear.

He told me that the separation of the vitreous fluid from the retina occurs in everyone later in life but most never know it has happened. I am in the 1% that has the problems. Like I said I have the bad luck.

The up side is he told me I can in fact travel to ConVENTion so I will see you all there even if my sight is a bit blurry.

I’ve been bemoaning the fact i currently make minimum wage, but after reading this, even though you make more MONEY, i don’t wish to trade places with you Dan! No, i’d rather have minimum wage than minimum sight any day! Hope it improves quick & glad you can go to Vent Haven.

Yipe. With cataract surgery coming up for me in eleven days, now I’m a little terrified. I also know that the retina surgery is painful for you (had a friend just go through that), and am wishing you a speedy and complication-free final recovery, Dan.

I have them, caused by rubbing eyes (allergins). The floaters from force of gravity will fall to bottom in time.

Phil don’t worry. As I said I am in the 1% that has this happen. The odds are in your favor that you will NOT have any problem. The end resuly from your cataract surgery will be bliss because you will see clearly again. For the first 3 weeks for me it was heaven.
