Ventriloquist Mike Robinson Live

Ventriloquist Mike Robinson happened to dock again in Boston, while performing on the Holland American ship Maarsden, and gave me a call so I went and picked him up and we spent a few hours together. He just loves to come and play at my house.

While he was handling the figures I asked if he would do a little ventriloquism for me and he agreed. He didn’t know that I was ready with my camcorder to grab it for the web site. When I told him this he floored me by letting me know that I am the first and only person he has every allowed to record him doing ventriloquism.

I was truly honored by that fact. I can also say he is a consummate pro because in an instant he brought life to Lee Dunn’s Johnny figure and to me it looks like they have been a team forever.

What do you think??

Again thanks Mike for allowing me to be first to record you and make sure to drop by again next time you are in Boston.

Dan, pass along to Mike he needs to tape a DVD to sell on the ships – and when they are available, I’d like to buy one as well. Great talent!

Hey Mike! Thanks for posting this, it is always a pleasure to see an entertainer as talented and skillful as Mike Robinson. I saw Mike’s show and met him for the first time on the Maasdam. Mike’s show was outstanding. In fact, I enjoyed Mike’s show so much I went back to his first show a second time, and I went to his second show two times, and I can honestly say I never got tired of ANY of it. It was an unforgettable experience meeting him and seeing his remarkable show and it was great to see him do some more work.

    Best,
    David

  5. Having the good fortune to be able to call Mike a good friend, it’s fantastic to see his abundant natural talent exhibited here…we are getting a rare look at one of the true all-time best vents, doing what he does best! And…that figure! Lee Dunn’s craftsmanship speaks for itself, doesn’t it?
A true work of art. Having recently had the pleasure to talk with Lee and commission one of his creations myself, this video of his outstanding handiwork, (brought to life by a seasoned pro like Mike), has me
well beyond excited. The day Lee’s figure arrives will reek of awesomeness! Thanks for this post, Mike and Dan!

I’ve received a few questions I would like to answer here in this blog. First of all, I was born in Montreal Quebec and raised in Nova Scotia Canada where I still live. This is where my family is from. I have never been to a ventriloquist convention but many magicians have seen me perform at the Fechters Closeup Convention. It is all I have time for, though in the future I would LOVE to attend a vent convention. Naturally there is TV footage of my act and some video taken for promo editing projects but no one has ever filmed me offstage in an impromptu situation (where I am not performing my act or part of my act) so Dan IS the first in that regard. Many have asked but Ventriloquistcentral are the only ones I allowed to do this and this is what Dan is referring to in the blog. Hope this clears up any confusion and thanks for all the nice replies . Is this not the greatest site?

  8. Michele says:

We just saw Mike on the Oosterdam. He’s a PHENOMENAL talent. I think it would be very cool if Mike did a show on Comedy Central with Jeff Dunham. Mike would certainly give Jeff a run for his money. I am spreading this website around to all my friends so they can discover this wonderful talent for themselves!!
