Everyone knows Johnny Carson as a comedian and also a magician but many may not know that he was a ventriloquist as well.

Several famous performers started out as ventriloquist, Ted Knight, Don Knots, David Copperfield. I didn’t know Carson was a vent.
Carson’s background in ventriloquism qualified him as the great straight man/comedian he needed to be simultaneously, as host of The Tonight Show.
