Ventriloquist Central Video Collecting Series – An Unusual Insull Figure

There is a word I don’t like to use often and that is the word RARE. But I must use it in the description of this ventriloquist figure.

This is a rare Insull figure made back in the 1950’s and he is I believe the smallest version that Len Insull produced. He is only 27″ tall and is a full functioning professional ventriloquist figure.

Check out this video.

Love it! I have a similar head, but it has the manual eye movement looking to the left, one winker, eyebrows, and flapping ears. Hair and paint isn’t as nice as on yours though and mine has no body. I bought it because I wanted to have a small figure to carry around, but never got around to building the body for him.

Very good to see this example!

    Hi Dan,
Very much appreciated the video of the small Insull. I thought you might be interested to know that I purchased my Insull through Davenports in August 1959. I had the option of a real hair wig which I decided to take. It was much more expensive; almost doubled the price of the figure. As I bought this direct, I can say for sure that the real hair wigs were offered. I could send a photo of my doll sometime if you would like.
    Hope this is of interest.
