Ventriloquist Central is the brainchild of Dan Willinger and Steve Hurst. Dan is a ventriloquism enthusiast and ventriloquist figure collector. He has been collecting for over 25 years. He created the Ventriloquist Central Collection. It now has over 100 ventriloquist figures and over 50 of them are Frank Marshall figures. Steve is a ventriloquist as well as builder of ventriloquist figures. He also has a background in sales, marketing, building websites and computers. Because they both love the art of ventriloquism, the website Ventriloquist Central was born. For more information about the website, go to: http://www.ventriloquistcentral.com

As for the lever in the center for the eyes on this figure I can not tell from the video what he used, but on mine Marshall used a flat washer soldered in place. I know this because on one it came loose and I had to resolder and quite a trick getting this done.

  2. Ted Nunes says:

I think a lot of us would ALWAYS appreciate seeing the head sticks–we are nerds for the details. (how are the knots in the lever strings tied? I’m not kidding; we want to see it all.) In fact, I think an entire video (or video series) devoted to comparing and contrasting the different head sticks and controls would be great. Even better would be a peek inside some Marshall heads. I’d love to see how the mechanics move as you work the controls. (although, I know it would be challenging to stage a shoot like that.)

Lee as you described many of the Frank Marshall eye controls have the washer soldered on but I have other with other knobs and such attached. I think Frank would use what ever he had on hand. Ted Frank tied a regular knot on the underside of the lever at the position he wanted the lever to rest. Nothing special. I have some that the knot has a drop of glue on it which prevents slippage. I also agree with you on showing mechanics so I will undertake a video like that for you all to see.

  4. You know I am excited about seeing inside the head!
