There are so many wonderful things about going to the Vent Haven ConVENTion. One such item is getting to meet all the ventriloquists, even those some of us grew up watching on TV.
Among the greatest of the greats is ventriloquist Jimmy Nelson. Here’s a quick video I did last year after just having dinner with Jimmy.

Jimmy Nelson is a gentleman and a legend. II have treasured the limited communications I have had with him. It is rare to find an icon who is so accessible and so forthcoming and so damn nice.
Hi Dan, You are right about Jimmy Nelson.WhenI was growing up he was my idol. As you may knowI have met hundreds of famous people. Joan Crawford, JimmyDurante,introuduced DizzyGilaspi toArnoldPalmer,Breakfast with Sophia Lauran and many many more. I can honestly say the only person that I was nervous to meet was Jimmy Nelson. I was like a little kid.I couldn’t speak my hands were swetty and he and his wonderful wife made me feel as if we were old friends.It was certenly a highlight of my life to meet him.
