Something Different

I thought we would do something different for today’s blog. The video below is one that sent to Steve (my webmaster) and he insisted that we put it on the blog.

Even though it has nothing to do with ventriloquism, it does involve another one of my passions, playing the guitar.

I hope you enjoy seeing another side of me.

    Dan,

    Great Video on playing the guitar. Your style reminds me of a Les Paul type.

    Cheers, Larry

    Nice git-fiddle playin’, Dan. Too bad we never got together back when I was in the Boston area — but then that is when I sold my 1968 J160E Gibson (the John Lennon guitar, remember the box car scene from A Hard Day’s Night?) to NPR President Kevin Klose for his son, a musician. When we moved down here, my wife bought me a Martin accoustic. Gee, we had so much in common and lived so close…
    I hope we can get together next July at Vent Haven…

    Hi Dan,

    Again, we have something in common. I have been playing guitar since 1975. I was in a rock band called FTW for awhile back in the 80’s. I learned from a fellow who took lessons from Andre Segovia himself.
    I still play to entertain family and friends. My instruments include My Martin steel string, a Washburn Banjo, a Gibson 12 string and a yamaha bass. Are you left handed as well? (;

    Steve

    Hey Dan,

    Nice playing. I took jazz guitar lessons from Bob Shaw who used to teach at the New England Conservatory of Music, I believe. Also took classical guitar lessons from John Sutherland who did master classes with Segovia and Parkening. I don’t play much anymore, but always love to hear someone who can.

    Take care,

    Gary
