Saying Goodbye Isn't Easy

I have bought and sold for many years many different items and besides my great love for Ventriloquist Figures during the decade of the 1980’s I was mad for antique cars. I bought and sold many and kept only a few.

One of my deals I sold a 1933 Chrysler CO6 convertible coupe with rumble seat. I restored this car right in my garage. A total body off restoration which resulted in a beautiful car. I did a deal with a fellow in Virginia and in this deal for the Chrysler I got my Auburn Boattail Speedster. It was a replicar built by Vintage Auto Works in Palm Beach Fla. and was based on a 1980 corvette. Today it is now an antique ( autos are antique at 25 years of age).

I put a total of 1100 miles on her in 14 years and last month when I lost my storage I put her up for sale. I actually showed her right here on this blog. Well she has found a new home in Columbus Ohio and I thought I would share a few pictures of her taking her last voyage from her Malden MA, location.

What a neat car. I will never brag again about my youth as a pipe-smoking sports car driver. The old MGs just don’t hold a candle to your car.

I was doing a web search on Auburn recently and noticed your pictures: I have not seen that car in many years, i am the son of Charles Sutton that man who owned Vintage Auto Works. I remember very fondly when that particular model was made and it is wonderful to see it in such good condition after all of these years.
