Rare and Unusual Charlie McCarthy Clock

charilie mccarthy clock

Back in the 1930’s to 50’s the Gilbert Clock Company produced alarm clocks with Charlie McCarthy’s face with the mouth that opened and closed with the ticking seconds.

Most that we see are the standard alarm style clock done in a cream clock. They did come in red and blue too but most were cream.

Today I am happy to show you one of the rarest styles and that is the square alarm Charlie McCarthy clock. I have not seen another like this one and I hope you enjoy seeing it too.

Yes it is in the Ventriloquist Central Collection.

Great find Dan. Now you’ll have no excuse not to be working on one of your restorations early in the morning !

I was curious about any internet mention of “Charlie McCathy” and googled it. Here is a beautiful photo owned by State Library of Victoria, in Australia of Edgar Bergen and “Charlie McCathy” http://www.slv.vic.gov.au/miscpics/gid/slv-pic-aab13490

    I agree Dan. Very nice.
