Joe Boley – Our Thoughts & Prayers

This morning I received an email from Bob Isaacson that everyone should be aware of in the ventriloquism community. Here’s Bob’s email:

“Good morning Dan….thought I’d pass on some news that you may want to post on your site. I found out that Joe Boley has been ill for the past year with kidney failure. That’s one of the reasons he was missing from the 2008 Convention. I spoke with Joe’s wife & found out that Joe has been on dialysis & is hoping to be put on a list for a transplant. I would be pleased if you would pass my information on to your audience requesting thoughts & prayers for Joe. Feel free to use my name as to this information as was Ok’d by Joe’s wife. I spoke to her last night while Joe was at the hospital…stay well……….Bob”

Let’s keep Joe and his family in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks, Bob for letting us know.

Sorry to hear about Joe’s condition. I’ll be praying for him. Ax

  2. Duane Echols says:

I am coming to Venthaven in 2009 for the first time. I’ll be praying for a successful transplant and speedy recovery so I can proudly meet and shake Joe Boley’s hand! Hang in there Joe! Duane/Vegas

  3. Shannan Knight says:

I knew Joe (and met his dad) for a short while years ago back in Kentucky, when he and my then husband had just ended their “The Colonel, The Captain, and Company” troupe, due to graduating from school, and starting “adult” (smile) lives.
I have passed the word on to my ex, Keith; and along with my adult children, (who are also in the vent/magic/puppetry field), will be actively praying for him and his family.

  4. Wanlu says:

Please post Joe Boleys PayPal account for those who may want to help out in our own little ways…

  5. Larry Harris says:

I too am sorry to hear about Joe Boley. I remember calling him a short time after his dear Father passed away to tell him how much I thought of him and his advise.

Let us all hope for a speedy recovery for Joe. I will keep him in my prayers.

Ouch, I feel for Joe, we have been friends for a long time and I am a huge buyer of Joe’s puppets, in fact one claim to fame that I am proud of is that I videotaped Joe’s act when he performed at venthaven (yes, I got caught and got in big trouble) I was able to show the tape to Joe and his dad, the Great Bill Boley was able to watch the tape also, he said he never got to see Joe’s act at the convention and was proud of his performance. Whether it be Bill, Charlene or Joe, the Boley family has been a HUGE influence on my career and I love them all dearly,

Stay well Joe, we miss ya’

  7. Kind regards for you Joe. I spoke with you a number of years ago at the only time I was at Venthaven the year after your father’s passing. I am so sorry to hear of your situation and pray for your eventual healing. I was glad to see you following your father’s path and taking over the figure building. As Wanlu stated, please pass on your email address. I have your card but the email is disconnected. Are you still at the same physical address?

As Bob Abdou says, Stay well Joe, hang in there, that we’ll meet again.
