Fabulous Spencer / Hall Ventriloquist Figure

DSCN2687[1]

I am pleased to show you the simple marvelous creation by Dennis Hall, ventriloquist builder. The figure you are about to see started as a very roughed out head by Ken Spencer, which Dennis happened to find. He worked this rough piece of wood into the figure you now see.

The head has side to side self centering eyes, wiggling ears, raising eyebrows and of course slot jaw.

The body is done in the Frank Marshall style with the shaped shoulder board and the tied spline front and then padded. The hands are also carved wood by Mr. Hall.

Dennis offered to finish painting and wigging and dressing him but opted to do the finish work myself. So stayed tuned for further updates on this great figure.

What a wonderful figure created by a fairly new figure maker, Dennis Hall. It looks like a combination of Ken Spencer & Frank Marshall. Fine carving & great movements. Figure has that “special Spencer look”. The torso has that terrific Marshall style shape. Hope Mr. Hall continues to create more wonderful Ventriloquist figures. Congratulations to Dennis Hall & also to Dan for obtaining the figure.
