Correction on Ventriloquist and Figure Maker Cecil Parkee

oops pic

I received an email from Daniel Parkee who happens to be the nephew of ventriloquist and figure maker, Cecil Parkee. He pointed out to me that some of the previous information I had on Mr. Parkee was incorrect:

“Cecil Parkee is a relative of mine (uncle); his name is pronounced ”Se-sil”, not ”Sea-sil” as stated in the video and our last name is pronounced ”Par-key”, not ”Par-kay”. Please don’t feel offended as no offence has been taken with regards to incorrect pronunciation of our surname.”

“Secondly, some of your details regarding Cecil Parkee’s biography are incorrect. Cecil was not an immigrant from China, but rather a Chinese man born in Australia before the 1940’s and only recently celebrated his 90th birthday (due to reasons of confidentiality, I have been asked not to disclose further details on Cecil’s biography). Your statement regarding his performance of ventriloquism during the 50’s and 60’s is however correct.”

As one Daniel to another, thanks so much for sharing this correct information with us.
