Bob Isaacson sent this collection of great information to me. It’s so good, I decided to put it in the “Tribute” section of Ventriloquist Central.

It is clear to me now that you are an original wood sculptor in your own right. Your gas videos clearly show fine ventriloquial technique, and now this article and photos show Orville Sweet no fluke. Anybody that can reproduce and combine the various Charlies into one, like you did, and the Mortimer reproduction so good, can do more originals like Orville Sweet. Please create more fine figures.
Great article, and beautiful figures of Charlie and Mortimer. Hopefully the museum will reopen and the original figures will see the light of day again.
Great story! Bob, I remember visiting the Museum of Broadcasting in Chicago and seeing the display with Charlie, Effie and Mortimer many years ago. It was fun to see them, just like seeing Charlie and Jerry Mahoney at the Smithsonian in Washington. It would be fun to see you do your Bergen and McCarthy show at a future ConVention.
Mr. Isaacson,
Thank you for that AMAZING story!!!! & what a WONDERFUL job you did making Charlie & Mortimer!! If you had said they were originals, I would have TOTALLY believed you!!!! GREAT JOB!!!! Happy New Year!!
