Al Getler Visits the Ventriloquist Central Collection

For me there is nothing better than when someone comes to see the Ventriloquist Central Collection and last week was no exception.

Al Getler, a past chairman of the Vent Haven ConVENTion and a great ventriloquist, lives about 40 minutes north of me in New Hampshire and he made the short trip down and spent about an hour and a half looking over the collection. I know he had a lot of fun.

I found out that his favorite characters are of course Charlie McCarthy and Mortimer Snerd. When he saw the two characters, which Bob Isaacson had carved and now reside here, he went nuts. He asked if he could pick up Charlie and give him a try and I of course said yes. Well to my delight he has Charlie’s voice and mannerisms down.

I stopped Al and got the video camera and he did a few minutes with each figure Charlie and Mortimer and I am pleased to be able to share these with you.

Remember the Ventriloquist Central Collection is available for you to view as well. Just let me know when you are going to be in Boston and we will make a date.
